Disney's new X-Pass system in 2013

Next year Disney will be introducing a new pass system like Fast Pass called X-Pass, but that name could change. There are lots of discussions on the net about this negatively affecting the ride queuing times and Disney taking away the spontaneity of vacations, but it is too soon to tell what will be the impact.
Basically, what we know right now with X-Pass is that  guest will be able to schedule weeks ahead of their arrival date ride times on the popular rides. It has also been said that the new system will also be free, but no final details on this at this time. What is also not known is the affect on Florida annual pass holders, but I am sure that Disney is not going to forget about a significant source of repeat revenue.
We have to also remember that there are still people visiting the parks who do not know how the Fast Pass system works and many think you have to pay for it. No matter what happens with the new X-Pass system we still have to remember that the experiences at Disney that you currently enjoy are not going away and you make the real magic happen..

Disney's new Vision house at EPCOT

After having Sunday brunch at the Market Street Cafe in Celebration  we headed over to EPCOT and spent a little time there during the 2012 International flower festival and went to see the new Vision house at Innoventions. Here are a few photos:

The living areas are very relaxing after a hot day of walking through the parks. Great place to sit down and enjoy your favorite shows.

The kitchen has many energy efficient devices and lost of little touches like the dishwasher  that can do very small loads and use much less water.

All of the lighting is LED, but it comes with a price tag of $1000. Also, the island top is made from recycled glass, but the texture is really smooth and the colors were nice.

The table below has been in the family for years and that is a great way to save some money, but the chairs need some help.

The Armstrong floors are a nice touch.

The design on the wall is cool to match the cool blue, but the bead is a little small. Still an interesting room because you can remotely control everything in the room with the AMX system.

The blind are contained in the windows so no more dusting blinds. Now that is worth the expense.

His and Hers
Rub a dub...
Lots of cool stuff in the house and some interesting ideas on recycling and reusing to make a greener house and finally finishing with a water saving toilet, but with a price tag $6500 not sure how long it will take to recover the cost.

Easter egg exhibit at Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

If you get a chance stop by Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and take a few pictures of the Easter egg exhibit. I would not recommend making this a must thing to do, but if you are in the area it is a good distraction from the crowds in the parks and you can enjoy a great walk around the resort. Try taking a walk to the Polynesian resort as well because it is relaxing as well and not nearly as crowded as the parks and you can let the children play in the sand along the shore line.
A tradition changes after 15 years so enjoy.

A great deal of talent is being displayed here and the children are sure to enjoy the colors, bunnies and the art work. Obviously this may not be as much fun as doing things in the parks, but sometimes you need a break from the holiday crowds and this is a good place to relax and enjoy a few precious moments of peace.
